For Competition or a Great Workout

Our Thai Kickboxing Program focuses on the development of functional skills that work for both self-defense and fitness. While the workout is highly arobic, it is not an arobics class. Students are actually developing kicking and punching techniques the proper way.

Here at DWMMA, safety is our main priority. To ensure every one's safety we try to instill proper technique and skills into every one of our students. In order to learn how to defend yourself, you must understand the mechanics of the punch and the kick. To teach this, we train our students to hold pads for each other. This helps the students learn the different combinations, and it teaches them the subtleties of how to predict which strike an opponent will be throwing next.

In essence, the student is learning how to train effectively for functional fitness, competition, and self-defense. The majority of our students start out just for a great workout and to have some fun. There is never any pressure to compete, however, we will push our students to work hard and get in the best shape possible.

Our curriculum is a blend of realistic martial arts and fighting systems. It blends Muay Thai Kickboxing, Joe Lewis' Combat Kickboxing and Western Boxing as one system. Students will learn powerful kicks, knees and elbows, combined with hand strikes, evasions, and entries from Western Boxing. So if your goal is to learn self-defense, fight in the ring, or just experience an intense, high-energy workout, then Dragon Within Martial Arts is prepared to give you what you are looking for.

The workout will give you increased stamina, strength, Cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, weight control, self-discipline, and most importantly...Self Defense.
